I was the last to hear that Betty was leaving us to move to
Washington, D.C. where she is going to work for one of the

School's out

I was standing at my desk reading my e-mail when Sally called:
"Peggy wants you now!"

I said: "Yes ma'am, I'll be right up." I ran up the stairs. I
curtsied to Sally who took my arm and led me into Peggy's

part twenty - Monday morning back to work.

Peggy introduced me to the staff, six women. Three of them were
involved in the company web site, and the other three worked on
the IT help desk and the company's applications.

I felt it strange to address Peggy as Miss Peggy in front of my
staff. But nobody commented or thought it was odd. I had each
person into my office to explain what they were working on and

I resorted to the cook books to figure out what to fix for
dinner. The women keep me to a tight schedule and there is no
time for testing recipes and I'm still a novice and I fear
screwing up something complicated. I found dozen's of yummy
sounding recipes but more than five ingredients or six steps and
I move on. I gave up searching recipes.

I steamed cauliflower and made a cheese sauce, and prepared
chicken patties with brown mushroom gravy and steamed onions.
The aromas were better than the food and reached their peak when
Sarah walked in.

I prepared blender cocktails with rum and bananas to welcome
Sarah (BJ's need rewards) and served them to Kathleen and Sarah.
(I had some rum in the kitchen.) The banana daiquiris were
somewhat alcoholic but tasted like a banana smoothie. The ladies
became a bit mellow.

It is morning, only my fourth day of slavery, it seemed I've
been doing this forever. I made the coffee. Took coffee to
Sarah, helped her on the potty, emergency pedicure, dressed her,
applied foundation and eye liner, left to prepare breakfast.

Granola and yogurt, juice and coffee. Not much but I got a big
hug. For Kathleen, English muffins and poached eggs with bacon
and coffee.

It was UPS. I signed for six boxes addressed to Kathleen. I
stacked the boxes and went to tell Kathleen.

She said: "It's very timely for the materials to arrive just
now. Come get your tools we have some assembly work to do."

Two of the boxes held parts to make a stock to secure a person.
Kathleen said she ordered this for me, and it's an omen that it
arrived after I acquired three demerits for the same lust

That Night.

About 6:00pm on that first evening Kathleen said, "Please
prepare supper for Sarah and myself, and prepare something for
yourself."

I was confused but took her words, literally. I'm not much of a
cook but I boiled water and warmed bottled spaghetti sauce and
