DOMestic and DungeonNet are Go - again

From: "Christine" at u4ds.com
Date: Sat, 14 Apr 2018 08:14:55 +0000

Hello,

Apologies to anyone who has seen server errors while trying to
use either the DOMestic blog or the DungeonNet search engine in
recent weeks.

One sub who I spoke to on the phone told me he and his Mistress
had encountered errors on the DungeonNet web site.

I had to laugh at his shock when I told him I was going to cane
David right away for those errors before I put him to work
fixing them. He seemed a bit taken aback at first, but then told
me I sounded just like Lady Penelope. (the English accent?)

Surely not the corporal punishment, as that's not the way I
remember the original "Thunderbirds are Go!" as a child.
(Lady Penelope has become more strict, see video above.)

Hello,

Since the last digest on the 31st October, we, the moderators,
are the only people who have posted any messages to DOMestic.

Can anybody explain why that is? Have you all lost interest?

YahooGroups membership bug

From: "Christine and David" at u4ds.com
Date: Mon, 27 Jul 2009 20:43:50 +0100

Hello,

If anyone has in the last couple of weeks attempted to
subscribe, unsubscribe, or change any email settings for their
subscription for any YahooGroup larger than 350 members, those
changes will probably not take effect until early August when a
bug-fix is hopefully expected to have updated the "replicated
database system".

According to Yahoo, the current effects of the RepDB system bug
include:-

The Lady's not for twittering

From: "Christine" at u4ds.com

Hello,

I replied to the sender of one of those spam invites from one of
those:-

Book_a_ Twit_Sit_on_My_Face_Fill_a_Space_Get_a_Life web sites.

As usual I told the person sending the "invitation" that I had
better things to do with my time.

I suggested that DOMestic which has now been going for 13 years
provides plenty of ways to stay in contact with everyone in this
community and/or me. It also does this without sending spam to
anybody in your address book.

I received an apology which made two key points that I felt the
need to reply to...

Hello,

We are still hearing of folk who don't get their DOMestic, which
may go some way to explain why the list is quiet.

See how to whitelist the email you want at:-

http://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+whitelist+email

and if that doesn't suit you, try our own suggestions on using
newseeds at:-

with pictures of IE, Firefox and Opera.

should we make changes to the list?

Hello,

The list and blog site have been very quiet recently. There used
to be many people posting with interesting comments and usually
questions, surely you must still be around? Or has the world
changed so much that all your questions have already been
answered?

Hello,

"To help to ensure delivery of DOMestic by email, external links
will only be visible if you visit the blog links given."

You may have noticed that statement at the top of the last
digest which represents a change in DOMestic policy which we
feel we should explain further.

No change for you in posting, just a bit more work for us in
editing.

whitelist, newsfeed or doomed?

Hello,

Somebody recently wrote to us off-list that they are lucky if
they receive one in five issues of DOMestic. Given the subjects
discussed here, the words used, and considering what you'll
probably read below, that's hardly surprising.

DOMestic as a digest in email is doomed unless it is whitelisted
by you. Newsfeeds are the other way to guarantee receipt. (see
later)

Hello,

Reuters reported on October 18, 2006 that Microsoft has released
Internet Explorer 7, the first major upgrade to its Web browser
in five years, with features designed to help prevent online
fraud and improve ease of use.

One of those "ease of use" features, is "Feeds".

Re: Eyesore - part one

Hello,

In Stories and blog stuff, I previously wrote about the
story "Eyesore"...

>it's suggested in this story that the female submissive is
>getting what she actively wanted.

Today we received the story again, including the part previously
posted, and a continuation but not, apparently, a completion.
Rather than post it all over again, we've edited and appended
the continuation to the original post so that the post on the
blog is now the more complete version of part one as we received
it today.

However, A WARNING - the story, like a previous story recently
received from this author, goes back to discuss very disturbing
childhood abuse issues which one presumes are a factor in the
main character's submissive nature as an adult.

You could be right, in as much as it's suggested in this story

http://www.mschristine.com/DOMestic_Blog/2006/08/eyesore.shtml

that the female submissive is getting what she actively wanted.
Off the cuff I don't recall another exactly like that, but maybe
one of our membership will correct me?
