did your post go missing?

Hello,
Once again the unreliability of email has come to our attention.
This time in the other direction.
Recently a DOMestic reader reported that their post had not
shown up on the list. We checked their resent version, and it
appears that it was sent in HTML format to one of the lesser
used posting addresses:- DOMestic@topica.com
You can send posts to the Topica address or the YahooGroups
address, but the best posting address for your email is:-
where we, the moderators, manually remove the HTML for well over
50% of posts received.
We didn't realise until the post in question went missing that
the Topica.com posting address was losing email altogether
rather than just stripping out the HTML content.
Ideally you should send posts to mailing lists in plain text
anyway, not Rich Text or any other fancy formats. One of the
many guides we have seen for configuring your system to send
plain text email is at:-
http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/listadmins/plaintext.html
It covers many systems, even AOL so please check to see if you
can change your own email settings.
If this doesn't suit you, there are various other ways to post
using a web form. You can simply reply via the blog links in any
digest.
For new threads/topics the blog posting form is at:-
http://u4ds.us/post_an_anonymous_message.shtml
The Yahoogroups or Topica systems also offer web forms for those
of you who read your DOMestic there.
But, whatever method you use, if your post doesn't show up, try
another method and/or drop us a line at:-
sincerely,
David at Ms-Christine.com
